Same type of call from theses guys stating the same mumbo jumbo that my computer was sending out errors lol the asked for a so callled Sam I told them no Sam here then he started bout he was from windows and wanted mo hit ctrl+r so he could help me with the errors and so on . I told him I was not going to give him acces to my computer and what was his name and I needed a call back number . Mind you he had a heavy middle eastern accent . So he gave the number 201-285-2011 and said his name was Lawrence . I started LMFAO and I responded your middle eastern with a name like that yea right I said that's how I know this is a scam and he muttered something and the hung up on me . I called the call back number and told the guy I was reporting him to our city cybor police and he hung up on me and now the number don't work I hope someone gets these guys
This scammer called me twice, supposedly working for Microsoft and that my computer was in danger. Looked up the number on white pages and found out that others have been scammed by this jerk. Glad I didn't fall for the nonsense!
Same story as everyone else's, except that he called himself "Mike" from the Microsoft Technical Department. I knew immediately that it was a scam but decided to have fun with it and kept him on the phone for a while asking lots and lots of dumb-sounding questions while feigning great concern about the "problems" they had detected on my computer (hey, I'm retired; I have time on my hands). I asked "Mike" where he was physically located, where he was making the call from, and he told me he was in California. I asked for a call-back number in case we were to get disconnected, and the number he gave me was 201-280-2011. BTW, it comes up on caller ID as a "private number" or "unknown number." I said, "That's a New Jersey number; you just told me you're in California." He got all flustered and gave the phone to someone else (both had heavy Indian-sounding accents), who started the same nonsense again. Got tired of it, and told him I'd look into it and call him back. He told me he'd wait for my call. He's still waiting.
I just received a call from these guys. I asked for a call back number and jumped on the computer to check the number and landed at this site. He kept asking me if I was in front of my computer. I asked which computer he wanted me to be in front of and he gave me a long serial number. When I told him I was in the car he immediately hung up on me. The call came in as unknown but the call back number was 201-285-2011. Scam!!
I already knew this was crap, as it's been going on for a long time, with the ID coming up as "Out of Area" He told me he was in Iceland, and that I couldn't afford an international phone call when I asked for the return phone number. When I told him I had to go take care of a grandchild, he asked me if the grandchildren were more important than my computer. What a doofus....
