Caller ID said Vonage. When I called it back, it said "Welcome to Vonage. It appears you have called 201-298-6967. Is that correct?"
If it really was Vonage then why wouldn't they know what number I called?
Obviously not Vonage but a fake company that wants to make money when you call them back.
Labeling this a prank call because SCAM is not listed in the options. But a scam is a vicious criminal prank so it fits.
Got a call from them on my home phone, like most everyone else they hung up, returned the call and went straight to Vonage. Never had an account with them and never will.
These guys have been calling all the time. I finally answered and waited for them to talk. It took quite a while. They said thank you for being a Vonage customer and that I could turn on my phone for an extra extention at no extra charge. I said thanks, but I didn't need it. She said it would be good to turn on just in case and asked me for my 4 digit pin. When I lied and said I didn't know it, she asked me for the name of my childhood pet. I said, no I don't want to do this and she kept insisting on me giving her the name of my pet. Each time I said NO she said SIR, I'M ASKING FOR THE NAME OF YOU PET!
I believe that she is a scammer. An identity thief. Something. Trying to steal my credentials. Anyone who calls up asking for that kind of information is someone is not your friend
I have no idea who is calling as I don't answer calls that do not have a name showing on caller I.D.--- I have received numerous calls from this number and a message is never left. It is very annoying. I would like them to quit calling me!
