He said he was with Sprint and wanted to send me a free iPhone (4) and that I would not have to pay shipping or activation. I said what's the catch? He said that I sign on to Sprint for another 2 yrs, which I had no problem with. But when he mentioned my activation fee was free because I worked for such and such company I had never heard of-I told him I had worked for the same company for longer than I'd had cell phones. Longer than cell phones had been available to the public! But it was not the company he mentioned. I begab asking more questions and for some reason he started talking rude and telling me I was trying to rip Sprint off. I hung up on him. I then called Sprint-found out they did indeed have the wrong employee discount listed for me, but that I should have been receiving a larger discount,(it wasn't the same employer that he mentioned), and that I am also eligble for the free iPhone. I will also be recieving retro dollars for the months they had the wrong employer, and that the guy who called me was a scammer because they don't have people that do that! Also, I can go down to their store and get the same thing he was offering me, but he told me they would charge me $49.99. She assured me this was a lie. Strange kind of scam, but a scam of some sort, all the same.
I just got the same phone call but said I would call him back if I wanted it - guess I won't be calling him back but what gets me is how did he get my cell number at??
