Who called from 2014532459

someone
person with a foreign accent calls 80 times a daily and harrasses my coworker.  has impersonated the police, threatened to come arrest this coworker, as well as has gone to the extent of cursing him out, and calling him offensive names.  we don't know who this person is, why they are calling. He has spoken to several of my coworkers, and seems unconcerned that he is harrassing the rest of us.  he has been transferred so many times to security, and security is getting fed up with it.  They now kick the calls back to our department!

If you check the message threads below, you'll notice many similarities to the calls you're receiving. I don't know yet if it's the same group of crooks, but I'd bet that the call is coming from overseas and they're working in tandem with a payday loan scammer in the U.S.  It's also a safe assumption that they are using either a caller ID spoof or VoIP to disguise the true origin of the call.

You may want to report these calls to all the following federal and state law enforcement agencies:

1) The U.S. Secret Service is responsible for protecting the country's financial infrastructure and payment systems from international and domestic threats. Call or write your local Secret Service field office to alert them to the details of this attempted extortion. The addresses and phone numbers for the local Secret Service field offices are listed at http://www.secretservice.gov/field_offices.shtml or in your phone book.

2) Alert the FBI at https://tips.fbi.gov  Be sure to tell the FBI that you are being targeted by extortionists over the phone who are posing as federal law enforcement. Be sure to give as many details as you can.

3) Since the caller represents himself as calling from New Jersey, file a complaint with the consumer affairs division of the New Jersey Attorney General at http://njconsumeraffairs.gov/contactinfo.htm

4) File a complaint with your local police or sheriff's department. Most police departments will take a report over the phone.  Be sure to tell them that you're being targeted by an extortionist and give them all the details.

5) File a complaint with your state's attorney general, the contact information for whom is at www.naag.org

6) File a complaint online with The Federal Trade Commission at https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01

If these crooks call back, promise them nothing, pay them nothing and tell them nothing other than that you know they're a scam and that you've reported them to federal and state law enforcement. (And be sure to report them to all the agencies above each time they call you.)
