We are an HVAC Contractor, got a call who asked for me by name from this number and being suspicous of the number I replied that I was not in. Same as above, asked for voicemail, which we don't have so I said she could leave the message with me, but she wouldn't tell me what she wanted. I'm always very careful with company information as there are alot of scams out there. Suspect it was the same lady, with a very heavy accent. Googled the number it is an unlisted cell phone in Newark NJ. Now why would a financing company if they are legit be calling from an unlisted cell? I smell scam!!
I don't know who they are but a lady with a strange accent called asking for someone who didn't work here. I couldn't understand her accent and the connection was so bad she had to repeat herself several times. She asked for this person's voicemail. When I told her there wasn't anyone by that name here she then asked me for a manager's voice mail. I asked her what the call was regarding, she told me "financing for the company". I almost laughed out loud. She then asked me if it was a construction company. When I told her yes, she said again the call was regarding financing. The company I work for has been in business almost 100 years and even though I'm only the switchboard operator, I'm quite certain we don't need any financing for anything! What a joke!

It may be that someone else had that cell # before and the block of numbers that person was on was old.As you may know, internet information pages can remain in tact for the longest time and half the time is incorrect. In fact, this happens more often than not. I.E. My stepfathers information is online with a phone number he never had in the first place and is under my fathers name listed with the rest of my dads family. My step dad is white and my father is seven different nationalities. It is hilarious. If however you are concerned they may not be legitimate, the best thing to do is report them to CSLB's fraud unit. They will investigate it, put out a warning to contractors, then send it up to the FTC is how that works. Anyone with common sense who believes this is a scam should know to do a little research and simply just to erase such a message as these people would eventually figure out their efforts are useless which is exactly what I did. We have also received a similar call from this number asking for the owners voicemail which we do not have. She just gave me a call back number and she told me that if we are interested in vehicle purchases then to call back at the same number that showed up on caller id which was 201-490-7815
