I told him if he knew how to scam people he can find it his damn self... I told him to stop calling me and hung up on him.. They he called back somehow using my cell and work number as display numbers. i'm so annoy I wish there was something I can do to stop this madness... They need to find other ways to get their money the legit way.
This is a person falsely identifying themselves as an attorney and trying to get money by stating it is from an outstanding payday loan. (Funny thing is, my husband has never had a payday loan.)
They violate FDCPA regs and threaten to have you arrested the next day if you do not pay them. They are scammers. Report them.
They called me and left a message. Keep calling me at work. I answered today and she was rude and ask why I didn't return her call. And then went on to tell me that my SS# was in the courts to be arrested. I told her I didn't care. She said oh you don't care. Then I said I have got to go and hung up. Seems to me if I was in that much trouble I would have been served with papers or something.
Called today and yesterday at work. V. hard to understand - gives names like "Shawn Taylor" and "Jake." When I pressed them to tell me who they are and where they are calling from, they finally answered "The National Crime Agency." That made me laugh. Then I pressed him to tell me where he was calling from - as in which nation - and he said, "Well, the United Nations, of course." Same as above - said they have my social, something about the courts, arrested, etc. today I pressed for the number and where they are calling from again - they said "New York City." Again, funny. So they put someone on the phone who claimed to be an attorney and said the same stuff this guy said. Unsure of how to stop it.
Someone called in broken English saying something about a "complaint" against me ... No specifics - just something will be sent in the mail. I looked up the number as I was talking to him because he had an accent I recognized which did not match the name at all ... I saw several complaints and reports of spam from this number and told him the same and he hang up saying "When you get the notice you will believe me, have a blessed day" ... That sure doesn't sound like an officer of a court or legal professional to me.
