A person who said his name is Bob Cooper called and threatened me with a law suite about a debt that i knew nothing about. He changed the name of a company i had used around and it threw me for a moment. A person named Brian Shelton was in on it to. They said they worked for Harrison Law Firm in SandraRafael, CA. other #s they used are 206-333-0022, 646-810-8626. The Brian person wanted me to write an apologe letter to him. I called the law firm and they said that other people had contacted them because these people were running a scam and giving the name of their law firm. I was instructed to call my police department and I called the better business bureau also. The Better Business Bureau said that did not know the phone #s and that they were probably scams. How they got my info i dont know but people need to be careful because they are fast talking and will try to throw you off. I called them back to get their address and the guy would not give it to me, he told me to go to the computer and look them up, when i told him my internet was down he told me that was not his business.

I had the same thing happen to me. The same person too. The police department or someone needs to stop these people from doing this. I don't get it but it does scare me because they have my information. Some one needs to stop these people.
The same as above andthey donot answe the phone as a business you have to tell them who you are, I have reportethem to the FTC as instructed by the people I really have business with and I also did a fraud aler with all 3 business bureaus. Many are aware of this scam it really scared me so I called my current business people and they said that they are no part of a Cashnet America that they are claiming.
First off I am incredibly thankful for these posts. I just received the same call and I was worried that I would be in serious trouble. I got a call from the same number and was told that a "Cash Net America" had a lawsuit against me. I had recently filled out information to get a payday loan so I thought something had gone wrong. He knew the last 4 of my social, birthdate and even called my work. He was a middle eastern man with a heavy accent and said his name was Officer Patrick Davis, gave a badge number and case number and asked a serious of questions about if I had a criminal past. Also threatened me in a form with "..Or do you want me to hang up right now and do what must be done against you"
I knew something was up after while when I asked about the company and he told me some information about how they handle over 700 loan companies. I dont think an Officer who is just informing me of my case would know that kind of detail and sound like a telemarketer. I did a quick search and found this site and I knew it was a scam.
I too am worried that they have my information but I dont know what to do about it. The BBB wants information on the company and since all i have is a phone number I cant file a complaint. I did call them back letting them know I am aware it is a scam and I will be contacting the authorites. Also not to contact me or my work again. Anything else I can do?
