I called it after hours. It's a credit bureau. I left a message to have my cell phone number removed from their list or I would reprot them to the BBB.
This company has been calling our phone twice a day for at least eight months. When I picked up, it said "to hear this message in english, press 1" and then I was put on hold for an endless amount of time. Every time I have tried to call the number back it puts me on hold for 20+ minutes, so I usually give up at that point. I stopped calling them back after about a month, because I figured nobody would ever answer.
Today I decided on a whim to try again. When I called back I reached a customer service agent (I was shocked I tell you!) who asked for the previous tenant - a person that hasn't lived in this house since 2008.
The company's name is NCC Commonwealth Financial Assistance, and I asked them to take our number off their list. Whether they will or not, who knows. Given that their list goes back at least four years, it may be that people's cell phone numbers were previously in use with someone who had accrued debt? Not sure, but regardless this sort of constant harassment is not cool.
