Caller ID read SSI and the number, which I didn't recognize. Caller gave up after six rings. The number is from MONMOUTH TELEPHONE AND TELEGRAPH INC. - NJ, of Red Bank, NJ, which is not in the 201 area code . This firm provides toll free numbers starting with 201-688 XXXX.
He was asking to speak with my husband, claiming he was from my husbands healthcare plan but due to privacy he "could not tell me what company he worked for or he would get fired"!
I received a call from this number around 9:oo pm last night from "SSI". I don't bother answering these any more. If it's legit, the caller will leave a message. Thank God for caller ID.
This number called me asking to take a survey on my advertising habits. I figured I would mess with them and take the survey since they said it would be "quick". After a 35 minutes of answering questions, and cycling through about 8 different accents, the call finally came to a close. They asked for my yearly income, job status, name, state, and zip code.
