I can confirm jac's statements. I received the exact same text on March 28, 2012 at 9:01 a.m. GMT -6.

This is absolutely a scam. Any sort of Apple promotions will come directly from the www.apple.com website.

My husband and I have different wireless providers and we both got the bogus iPhone text message.
