Called back again today, this time the same woman saying that they were the Shipping Department. Wife never heard of them and did not take call. They did not hang up when I told them that, so I did.
A web search shows a couple of small companies with similar names, but this company appears to be this one:
http://americanleisuregroup.com/
Complaints turned up on a web search mostly included unauthorized charges on a credit card for $16.95 monthly, sometimes for years before the credit card holder realizes that this is going on. The charges are for a magazine (that apparently does not exist) or for availability of luxury travel services, which may or may not be available through a concierge service; I haven't found any such but haven't looked, either. For some of these complaints, browse this site:

Dead air, and as I was about to hang up, I said loudly "O, come on, I want another scam to report..." and a lady with an oriental accent came on. She asked for my wife by her first name, after hesitating to read it off of something. She said that she was from "American Leisure." She hung up while my wife was coming to the phone.
"American Leisure" is linked to a number of scams, most notably authorized deductions from credit cards and bank accounts at just under the $20 redline that involves human eyes. Their web site has a pop-up on loading about people looking to see why their credit card or bank account was debited. See

and also do your own web search.
Caller ID is "Unknown name" and number is a Local Access Landline in Kearny, NJ, just north of Newark. The real office is in Florida, so the number may be spoofed.

Called again today and a young man, apparently an operator assigned by a boiler room dispatcher (initially dead air, then a live line), asked for my wife by name. I said she wasn't available, and asked if I could take a message.
Caller ID "Unknown name" and number is a Local Access Landline in Kearny, NJ, as noted in my post here on 7 July.
