Lady called giving her name as Jane Smith and asked for my boss. When I stated he was in a meeting and asked if I could help her, there was nothin but dead air. I repeated myself several times, then she hung up.
Receive many calls for different reasons from this number. Most are solicitations, a rare few are valid, and some mask their true intentions. For example: a soft-spoken woman with an accent, claiming to be an art student at the University of Arizona, wanted to ask questions about IT (huh?). I advised there was no general number, that she needed a specific contact -- which was quickly produced. When I told her the person wasn't at this location, she suddenly grew a backbone, saying briskly and loudly, "That's all right, we can find out what we need to know some other place," and hung up.
