got the same call seeing as I had taken everything down for system cleaning and upgrade parts for the last four days and was not online at the time I knew something was fishy told them to call back in two days at 1 pm plan on having a recorder and the local cyber police unit tagged in on this call
The crooks have access to information from prior service calls - they have the service tag, serial no, configuration, all details from any service call you placed. I've seen a couple of blogs where people have stated they allowed access to their machines because the detail information made them believe it was Dell. Those allowing access did not have a good outcome. Also, the 201-942-0539 number does belong to Dell Service. They've been calling me since 8/27, with multiple calls daily (I blocked the number after the first call, but it shows up on caller ID.)
