202-000-0000 is the number that appeared today after many, many calls for the past two weeks or so from some "unknown name" that doesn't show a number. I don't answer any of these...but I do think it's time for calls like this to be stopped. So why can't these people be stopped? We have the technology so why aren't we using it for things like this? These calls are EXTREMELY annoying.
This is a special interest group who preys on people who are not completely aware of the issue which they ask about and use this as immunition to try and sway congress to vote the way they want you to. DO NOT FALL For thier gimmicks, tell them no and call your congressman yourself, Tell them how you really feel, not what some person wants you to say!
Unfortunately if you go online and post your information including telephone number anywhere on the internet someone will exploit it that information because of the enormous amount of information insecurity. Not one network is a 100% full proofed from hacking or otherwise internal espionage. The problem is getting worse. You might have signed up for college information or applied to a new job online and someone who either works for that company or sees a vulnerability in that company's network will exploit it and probably sell that information to any one interested.
A machine called and said I've been chosen for a 7000$ grant from the White House. I call bs on this because I haven't applied for any grants or loans or anything ever. And I just graduated high school too which is weird that it knew but whatever. Unless they send me a check I'm not gonna believe it.
I got the same call today! If it is the white house or the government offering $7000 I accept gladly!!! And I hope that it is legit because I am in great need. Praise God if it's true ;)
