Some dirty people who could barely speak English called from 2 variations of this same number yesterday and today. Today he claimed to be calling from the "U.S. Treasury Department of the United States"...... Neither could tell me the first ladies name or Hilary's husbands name....... LOL I told each caller i'd happily give them all my info if they could answer 1 simple question for me. They become very angry and irrate on the phone.
Obviously in a call center as you can hear many more in the background and almost smell the stench.
Got a call from this number and they asked for Ron Russell. I said i was Rick Russell and without another word they rudely hung up When I went to call them back to chew them out for their rudeness I got a recording that said I had to have misdialed.
I've gotten a call from this number about to times within a 3 hour period. When I answer it, they know my name; they ask: "Hi can I speak to Amy"... and then when I answered, the phone cut off. It was a woman's voice. Sounded like a foreign accent, probably Spanish. I looked up the area code for (202) phone numbers and it turns out it is a Washington area code. Even if it says unknown, whoever is calling is blocking their location, but be aware that it comes from Washington. It definitely seems like a spam or scam even. So I would advise anyone that gets a call from this number, do not provide any of your information to them. If they ask to speak to "Your name here" don't reassure them that it is you. You can simply say "May I ask who is calling?" before giving any information. If the number calls more than once, I think it'd be smart not to answer concerning what I've concluded about it.
It is a scam it started out with a different number at first they are offering a federal government grant well at least for me $7,000. They will give you a different phone number to call with a pin password and when you call that other phone number up they will then tell you that you could either get the federal government grant from a CVS Walgreens MoneyGram Dollar Tree. They will then say you have to pay $400 to get that government grant. It's a scam that's going around I blocked their number the first time and now they are using a different number. The numbers are using his generator program or they can use any number they would like without paying for it. I did my research I would advise just ignoring the call and then blocking it.
