Getting at least a dozen calls per day from this number. The prefix is a Washington, DC number, but the people on the other end are very foreign-sounding. Not sure of the nationality, but I'm sure there have been two or three different accents/dialects, impossible to understand. This makes me think it's originating from somewhere overseas, and the calls are being routed through DC to create the illusion that it's coming from within the US. They're always asking for someone named Tristan, which definitely isn't my name. When I try to reason with them and explain, they immediately hang up in my ear.
I've had this same cell number for going on 7 years, and have been careful about giving my number out. As a result, I've prided myself on never receiving telemarketing-type calls on my mobile phone. But recently, after being dropped from my old insurance plan and being forced to enroll in the new government health exchange, I was required to give out my cell number. And within days, my phone is ringing off the hook with dozens of these scam calls... could be unrelated, but I really doubt it. Twice the price, double the premium, and now being harassed by a group of criminal scammers. Thanks Obama!

Callers are located in India and Pakistan. You could be the victim of simple random dialing. Invest in a call blocker and DO NOT pick up on call numbers you do not recognize. They spoof local numbers and love to use area code 202. Block the entire area code.
