I got the same call - the guy had such a strong accent I couldn't make out much of what he was saying - the post above helped me connect the dots. Because I couldn't understand him, made him keep repeating himself, he didn't get very far into his pitch before I ended the call.
I got a couple of calls today and a message was left by a woman with a heavy mid eastern accent. Difficult to understand. I do not pick up when the numbers comes in on my phone.
I got the same call only this man went as far as to tell me i could pick up my money at walmart in the money gram place or i could give him my bank account number. Yeah right like i am going to do that. 8500. A once in a life time grant that i would not have to pay back tax free. I hung up. Then he called again. He said he was from the US Treasures dept.
