I received a call from a guy that did not even speak English that well he also said his name was David Strophe which I really dough. He told me that I had won a federal grant of 7,800 dollars. All I needed to do is go to Walgreens purchase a Greendot money pack card and pay 200 dollars to upgrade it so I can receive the full amount of money. Then call them back at 202-684-6652 and give them the money pack information so they can transfer the money yeah right. Scam! Scam!
I could not make out entirely what man was saying when I answered the phone. I told him to remove us from all calling lists and mailing lists. He said 3 different times...shutup and listen to me sir.
Have been receiving multiple calls from this number so I finally answered since they never leave a message. Was told be someone with a heavy accent that they were from the government and I had won $9,200 grant because I had good credit. When I asked if they could send me something in the mail, he talked all around it. I asked if I could call back and he said sure. When asked for his number, he hung up. SCAM. Wanted a bank account number or a credit card number.
Thick accent said he was from Treasury Department and I had won a grant. I explained my hearing aid was dead , to speak up. I made him repeat everything multiple times. Then, when he said that my good credit entitled me to the grant, I asked him if he could mail it, because I couldn't hear him. Then when I asked him to cc my lawyer and could he forward the grant to my mortage company because I'm in forclosure, he cursed and hung up.
