I received a phone call from 279-917-3923 telling me to call the 202-204-0092 number to receive my $6000 Grant money and the guy that I talked to said that his name was George but he did not sound like a George and when I asked him how he got my number he could not answer me so I called the 202 204 0092 number to find out what this scam was. A lady answered and asked for a Grant ID # so I gave her the number that the guy gave me and she put me on hold. After a little while she got back on the phone and would not shut up long enough to answer my question of how they got my number. They told me that I had to send them $200 to receive my $6000. I told her I didnt have any money and she started yelling at me "What do you want me to do about that?" "Do you want the grant or not?" and so on. I told her that I was going to call the cops and she hung up on me.
they called and wanted me to wire them 98.00$ for verification of 4500.00 dollars. they want me to go today to western union. Guy said his name was steven davis yet he had a weird accent like indian or something. He gave me his employee ID and then also gave me a GRant ID number and said NOT TO GIVE IT TO ANYONE and NOT TO TELL THE WESTERN UNION PPL what i was doing. HE did not ask for a bank account number but HE DID have my Address
Its a scam. Most likely Nigerian since those are the most common. What I'd do is report this to the Western Union and then your local police to see if you can get a tap on the line to get the exact location of the number and if they are inside the USA more than likely something will be done.
Also if you are in any kind of contact with this person, stop and do not continue they have your address and phone number. Delete and ignore any e-mails and just ignore the phone calls. If you can't ignore them, when the number appears on your caller ID pick it up for a split second and then hang it up.

I was a victum a man called abd told me I was approved for a $1500 loan and to call #202-204-0092 and talk to a women her name started with an a but could not hear him clearly enough because of a heavy indian accent. so I called the number and a women with an accent but not as heavy answered the phone told me I could get the loan if I sent them $99 through western union she was very persistant when I completed that she told me it was completely refundable and I would receive the money back within 5-7 minutes after the money was sent she had me send the money to a harish ajush in india I was very skeptial but tried it anyway. wheni completed the money transfer and confirmed the confirmation number with her with her she put me on hold and then told me that I had to send another $99 for the tax to the government I was furious then I knew it was a scam I asked for my money back first she. tol me no finally she said that it would be refunded in 24 hrs when I called the next am the phone went to a recoeding that the voice mailbox is full it didn't even ring. asked for company name told me paydayloan.com
