I've got a call from this phone number at about 10:30am PST on 07/01/08. Didn't have a chance to pick up the phone. When I checked it, I had a long message with music playing, like when you're on gold. I didn't listen to the end and just deleted it.
You don't need our governments help. Your caller was just an Indian Scammer. Ignore him. He was nothing more than a pest. An insect. Get a call blocker & a call blocking app. for your cell. 'phone. Simple as that.
It's a new world out there & instead of just the frauds in our own country, we now have to deal with the frauds from all over the globe. India is now the fraud capital of the planet & that's just the way it is. Get used to it & learn how to protect yourself. It's sad to say but at this point, if your caller sounds like he, or she, has an Indian accent...hang up.

Recorded message states that there are three charges against me on my taxes. Says I need to call them back or they will call "the cops" Obviously a scam. Recorded message is grammatically incorrect several times in the use of plurals. I would guess it is a lousy Chinese translation. Use of the phrase "the cops" also gives the scam away. These loosers need to hide in a hole somewhere.
Same as above. Recorded message using a "computerized" Siri-like voice. Uses incorrect English tenses, grammar and sentence structure. It's hilarious to listen to! Part of the message states "...you will be taken under custody by the local cops as there are four serious allegations pressed on your name at this moment and we would request that you get back to us so that we can discuss about this case". I'll get right on that you asshats. You need to work on your English translation. Beware of this scam.
