Called a THIRD time today, again within less than 2 hours of the previous call, this time with a different #: 805-665-7927 but with the SAME computer-voice message. THIS time the ans. machine captured some of it so I can turn it over to law enforcement - if any of them care.
Latest IRS scam call; this one far more sophisticated than most. Caller ID said "CELL PHONE DC." I have been picking up silently, hoping to 'break' the call and expecting to 'confuse' the robodialers of these 'new' number, as yet unblocked calls. Often just get the dead air of the robocall - and then I immediately block the number. BUT the last few times when I've picked up, even though I say **nothing**, an ILLEGAL pre-recorded msg starts playing. Today was a COMPUTER-GENERATED 'female' voice claiming to be the IRS and saying a lawsuit had been filed, blah, blah, blah. Recording said to call this number back, so it must be a WORKING number, although likely to be set up to transfer immediately to a boiler room overseas. (I did NOT call it back.) Wish now I'd let it go to the machine so I'd have evidence for the FBI. These calls REALLY need to stop; SO MUCH is being STOLEN from unsuspecting victims. Also don't understand why we are at the 'top of the list' when we've NEVER been scammed via these phone calls and don't answer or respond to most of them. Beginning to think there are some high powered Washington Players behind these THIEVERY calls.

202-213/1249 they have called my home numerous times with a female recorded msg that I need to retain an attorney that the IRS is claiming to file a law suit I plugged this number into google and come up with this website another SCAM it is a Washington DC area code don't pick up or call this number it's another scam yo frighten consumers. First of all they would notify you with a certified return receipt via USPS. It's a shame they continue to get away with this
Received a call from this number earlier today. No message left, but I called them back and knew immediately this was another number for the IRS scam. I started to tell them that impersonating the IRS is a federal crime, but before I could even finish the sentence they had disconnected me. Tried calling the FBI/Treasury, but they're only interested in hearing from you if you actually lose money to these asshats. #FAIL, Treasury Dept....#FAIL.
