Called as the department of criminal investigations department reguarding tax fraud. It is a scam. If they call tell them that they have been reported to the IRS.
I received a call from this number at 10:33 this morning. They said someone has filed a tax fraud against me. She said her name was "Brenda Martin", yet could hardly speak english. I told her to please mail me the documentation and I would have my Lawyer look at it. She said all the documentation was at the Courthouse already (Yeah, right). I told her this sounds like a scam, thank you for calling and hung up. I am going to call the Sheriff's Department later today.
Call from 202-239-2026. Based in Washington DC. Said something about tax fraud and criminal investigation dept and to call them back before I got arrested....who could understand what these people are saying because of their thick accent. No way would I call this back. Scammers thru and thru. Do not call them back and never give any information to these types of calls. Reporting to our local sheriff's dept.
I just received a very upsetting call from 202-239-2026 also stating that I owed money to the IRS
And am posting this to help anyone who may receive such a scam. These people who call are very
Intimidating and try to be very convincing. If you should be unfortunate to be called turn the
Tables on them and tell them that you are going to report this call to your local police and to the
IRS. And and do it!!!!!
