Who called from 2022392472

I received a call from an individual claiming that I was being sued by the US Government because information was shared that I was attempting to defraud the IRS on past tax returns. I was told an amount that was due. I was told to get the cash and go to a MoneyGram company and send the money. Failure to do so would result in me being arrested and jailed or I could pay a fine of $75,000.00. Naturally, I was upset but I began to realize that the information I was receiving from this individual was false. I even contacted my tax return preparer who told me a scam of this type was being conducted and was reported by ABC news. I am not going to do as directed by this individual. His said his name was Michael Cunningham (very American) but he spoke with a foreign accent.

They did the exact same thing to me and it was the same person.

Today, January 26, 2016. I have returned to a phone message to call 202-476-0697. A man with an Indian (or similar language) accent answered and tells me that IRS has sued me to collect the tax I owe. When I asked to see the evidence, IRS will send me the tax record after I pay the amount in full. Then he transferred the call to his supervisor, another Indian accent speaking man. He identified his name as Shawn Miller, and his federal employee badge number as RC77D5. His direct phone number is 202-239-2472. He asked me to go to my bank and get the amount in cash while he is still on the phone with me listening. He was saying that when I got the cash, then he would tell me to go to another bank to deposit the money to an account held by Attorney General. I have owed tax to IRS before, and I know how IRS approach to you to collect, and this is not the way.

It is tax season again and the IRS scammers are crawling out of the woodwork. I received a call from one yesterday afternoon and decided to play along.He called himself Daniel Rich ID#KLLM52430. RIght, and I am the Cheshire Cat.  I kept him on the phone for 45 minutes by giving him the wrong zip code three times, getting him to try and spell my name and all the tricks that made him think he was going to get $4800. He did the usual scam by telling me to stay on my cell phone and get a Moneygram. I told him I was not dressed (he loved that) and I would have to go to the bank. He was not too swift because first I told him I did not have the money and would have to get it from my mother and then later told him I did have the money. Also, when he told me not to speak, of course I did. When he told me they were coming from the "coathouse" to arrest me, I asked him which one and listed every county in my state (I keep the list on hand for these people) nonstop and he was sputtering and got upset with me. Finally I got tired of him and told him my cell phone number (really my landline which is whitelisted so he could not call) and my home phone (really me cell phone which I have a blocker that tells blacklisted people that it is disconnected because I had already blocked his number while we were speaking) and he said stay on the line and he would call my cell so I hung up after he told me he loved me.. I don't know how many times he called my landline because it does not ring or keep a record but he called my cell 12 times in 20 minutes and then gave up. He called this morning at 7:30 AM and I picked it up just to play with him and he asked why I hung up and I told him we were disconnected by my husband who was a real meany. He asked if I was ready to talk about paying and I told him I was still in bed which really got him excited so I hung up again and watched as my phone blacklisted him 14 times before 8:30 AM. Too funny. I usually don't bother with these guys but something about this one really made me want to play with him. Be careful, friends, don't fall for it! They don't care if they have the wrong name or number, they are just out to fool people. They really are not all that bright for they never change their script and believe we think everyone at the IRS has an Indian accent. Be safe!!!
