Received a voice message from DEA agent William Wright 202-239-2860 said to call ASAP about online Drug purchase in 2008 and/or 2009. I called back from a blocked phone got a recording saying it was the Attorney General Office. Found out it was all a scam.
I just received a call from 202-239-2860, Special Agent William Wright from the DEA office in Washington, DC. He said I had purchased on-line drugs in 2007-2008 and that was a Federal offence. He said I faced 3-12 months in Federal prison or I could pay the fine of $2,500.00 to the Dominican Republic to have the charges dropped.
I called the DEA Office at a number I looked up on their website, they said they do not have an Agent William Wright and it is a scam.
Thanks to everyone that posted. That call really scared me, I feel better now that all of you have confirmed it to be a scam.
Just got a call from Spec Agent William Wright wanting a $950 fine paid to Niurka Gomez in the Dominican Republic. Contacted local DEA office and had a very funny conversation with those guys who were great. Basically, the thing to do is tell them to issue a warrant or pound sand.
Call back with your ID blocked and Magic Jack won't let the call through.
I received a call today - same name, same threats and am greatful to all of you who posted here! I have never purchased online drugs, but get telemarketing calls every few months to try and get me to. They never have my correct name, somehow my number and someone else's name got on a list?? What is the best way to get him to stop calling?
Got same call today...how ridiculous. They used name William Wright, said it was for prescription bought in 2007-2009 and he was with DEA. He also used wrong name....liars. Didn't bother calling back just looked this up.
