The caller said that if i didn't call back in thirty minutes i would be arrested. They also said it was Anderson law firm..What can we do to get them to stop harassing us?
Tell them you know your rights and that you will not be a victim to their extortion.
This is a common ploy by criminals attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this, all for an alleged or nonexistent debt.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Most likely Indian or Pakistani law/debt scammers. Ignore them and block their calls. Threats of arrest are the stock in trade of these criminals. You cannot be arrested for being in ordinary civil debt in ANY event.
got several calls yesterday saying they are an attorney and and i have a dept with advance america. told them to mail me something in the mail. if this is a true debt then you should have that info. they called back today and left voicemail since i blocked their number to go directly to voicemail and they stated that a warrent has been issued for my arrest. So i emailed advance america and i am waiting to hair from them now telling them that i am not reqponding to these people and i also gave them the number they are calling from . so they can research.
