I got a call from an individual with a Washington DC phone number (202) 239-7036 (that's how it showed on Call id) but who spoke with a heavy foreign accent. He stated he was a paralegal calling on behalf of the IRS "Investigation Bureau", and gave me a number I needed to call (the same one on call id), and told me I needed to speak to "Xavier Marshall" because supposedly there was an investigation against my name and "physical address". Instead I called my accountant and legal tax representative who informed me this was certainly a scam. These hustlers have no souls.
This is a scam - I work for a Congressman and called the # knowing what questions to ask and told them we are aware of the scam and he hung up. Please report them to the FTC and IRS.
I received this message on my vm but it was for my husband stating that it was officer Christoff (who had a very heavy foreign accent) with the Federal Investigation Dept. That there was a legal matter involving my husband and his SSN and Address. To not disregard the call and to call back at 202 239 7036. I did from my Govt phone and when a male answered (also heavy accent) i started asking questions like who they were and then the phone went silent. I tried calling again but they would pick up and put it on mute.
Called me three times today. Claiming that there is a complaint against my social security number and my cell phone. They urged me to call back or I will find the police at my door step. Funny how all the callers have a heavy foreign accent.
