Omg got a call and was the same as kanie's from Jul 9,13 same man same threats everything he really scared me I must say, he wanted $2500 today told him no way no funds he kept insisting. I took all his info down but he warned me not to tell anyone, no 3rd party could know about this call, an absolute scammer. Thank you Kanie for posting.
Got a call from this number yesterday from a guy claiming to be with the Department of Justice. Claimed he had lots of info that could get me indicted in Florida. BUT if I sent him $1,250.00 via Green Dot, he'd make sure the whole thing went away. Told him I don't have that kind of cash laying around, so he said he'd settle for $100.00. When I called back, the message said the MAGIC JACK customer I was calling was not available. DOJ?!? MAGIC JACK?!?! Searching the DOJ website provided no such 241 exchange AND the mailing address this gut gave me is incorrect as well. Be careful folks. Scammers lurk everywhere.
I had this guy call who sounded very serious; said the same thing as Dakota's Mom. I told him I couldn't understand him well and could I call back - he kept repeating "this is very serious." He wanted me to go to WalMart IMMEDIATELY to get the Green Dot cards - I had no idea what they were. He even said his name was the same as the head of the Dept. of Justice so when I googled the name, it looked valid.
Good for you for checking. Do you really think the head of DOJ is going to call you personally about a 'serious' matter? Or that the DOJ would be calling you about anything?
This is the same guy using a different number that was hot and heavy scamming a few months ago. 904-352-7334.
Got a garbled message from 202-241-0566, Ext. 248 (orA) saying that I should call back immediately. In the message the guy claimed he was an administrator with the DEA and had information about an ongoing investigation.
Got a call on a business line from this joker. Really? Sure I will run right out, get a "nontraceable" form of money exchange and get it right over. NO. These idiots just go buy new Magic Jack and start harrassing people all over again. Idiots and frauds, be careful!!
