Scam phone message, heavy Indian / Pakistani accent, a few giveaway spoken English errors, stated name was "Patrick Acosta" (ha ha!) warned that IRS had issued an arrest warrant against me, and my physical address was being monitored, to call 202-241-1046 to resolve issue.
Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.
Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.
Bad quality VoIP line. Male Indian sounding voice left voicemail, saying that he was officer so-and-so coming for my arrest, or something. The line quality was so bad that I could not get the entire message.
The more interesting part is that apparently in the caller's country, people are getting intimidated by their government unless they pay a bribe. In the free world, it does not work like that, but those guys do not know that.
