Got Arrest Warrant E-Mail from this same guy Thomas Greene with a small e-mail with the same number.... i called to see if it was legit and some Foreign speaking guy answered and told me to take care of this matter to go to CVS or WalGreens and get a Government voucher but to call him when i got there to buy it so he could give me instructions. The dude has called me back twice last night. If he calls again i will come back at him with, Guess What you are caught This number is being traced and Identified and he will recieve a Warrant Delivered personally... plus some other featured words that i cant say here..PPL like this needs to go under the jail.
This is the 2nd time I have reported them for the same thing, they used a different name last time...said it was a district attorney office they used 2 different names of the office..
My "arrest warrant" said Thomas Greene law firm. Same thing--poor spelling,, with no name on the supposed arrest warrant. Said if I didn't set up Offer in Compromise immediately someone would proceed with the charges, but my name was no where in the email.
Got a voicemail, no names, no company affiliation, just a heavy foreign accent said that he had an arrest warrant, and he did state my first and last name, and told me to call. I called back, and he said that there was an outstanding loan amount in my name (he even quoted my last 4 of my social) and that an arrest warrant had been issued. I have dealt with payday loan places in the past, and when you don't pay them, they don't issue a warrant for your arrest. They simply garnish your wages, so i knew this was a scam from the get go. He kept asking if i wanted to pay the balance ($571) or face the issue in court. I said i needed some kind of documentation to prove that i in fact took out this loan (as far as I know, all of my debts are 100% settled), and he flat out denied me any paperwork being sent out until they received the payment in full. I told him i was happy to pay in full, but was worried that this was fraud, and wanted to see some proof before I go ahead and make any kind of payment. He again refused. I continued to push the fact that I was not making any kind of payment until i received some kind of documentation in the mail (I have a PO box, so i was comfortable sharing it - but i never had to) and he quickly got very rude, and told me to go hire a lawyer and hung up.
I then went and did a search of my email, after reading the above thread to see if any Thomas Green or Preston Law Firm and found nothing whatsoever. So my experience seems to be slightly different than others.
SCAM SCAM SCAM. If they cant send me documentation to prove that i in fact owe them money, then this is a scam. He told me they would send receipts of my payment and proof of the money I owed, after i made the payment in full. I told them not a chance!
