Received a call from this number this morning, the person sounded of Indian descent and it also claimed that I had a warrant with the IRS that I had to call immediately. So I researched the # and I found this site. Thank you for clarifying and putting the voice out there, that this is a SCAM!!
Got two calls today from this number 202-241-1747. I didn't answer they left one message. A man sounding of Indian descent left a message which I couldn't understand except the IRS and allegations. When I called the number back I got a message saying they weren't there. again I couldn't understand the name of the company.

There is a fairly common IRS or "tax scam" being practiced by scammers in both Canada and the USA.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.
I got a call today from this number and I didn't answer. They left me a message saying I needed to called back asap. I called and a man answered IRS. He had a middle eastern type accent. He told me that I had a criminal tax fraud case against. He said I am holding papers in my hand this is serious. I couldn't understand half what he was saying so I asked to speak to someone else. "Another man" with the same accent got on the phone and I said I am trying to figure out what this call is about and he said " just wait to be arrested then! bye!" and hung up. I am currently on hold with the IRS just to make sure nothing is against me. I have found a hand full of sites with complaints on this number.
