Called Saying they were the IRS and if I basically don't call their number immediately, then they would issue an arrest warrant. They called from the same number with an automated message saying to call back that same number, 202-241-1943. I don't have any problems with the IRS and I don't know why they would call me. Either way, I doubt the IRS leaves an automated message, without naming the person charges are pending on and to call back??
Harassment: I called back 3 times and was disconnected after I yelled and threatened to report them to the police. When they told me that the phone call was being recorded I said, "GOOD, because if you are legitimate, you would have given me written notice in the mail . .."
Same experience as Robert above. I also highly doubt an automated phone message would be the first contact from the IRS. My caller ID said Roy Mitchell. Scam City.
I knew this was a scam. People are ridiculous. They are telling me I owe 9000$. And if I try to fight this in court then I will be fined 75000. Doesn't make much since. Especially since I make less than 40000 a year and keep up with my taxes. There is just no way I could owe that much.
