I received a very lengthy email that came thru from "Attorney General" (after some digging the actual email address is
[email protected]) It is all signed from "state attorney general, Steve Parks" (I googled him and no such person exists and I doubt the federal government would be e-mailing me from a hotmail account). The email is basically saying that this is my final notice and my social security number is being put on hold by the US Federal Government and they are pressing charges against me for violating federal banking regulations and check fraud. If I do not contact them within 24 hours at this phone number (202-241-2115, which happens to be registered to a company called Ymax Communications Corp) then I am going to be sued for $14,121.15 + loan amounts, interest, and attorney's fee's. There are also attachments to the email titled "warrant copy" that I will not be opening. At the bottom is all kinds of fine print talking about confidentiality and communication privacy acts. It is made to look pretty real and pretty scary, you have to dig a little to find the actual email address and information. You have to google the number and the name of the supposed attorney to find they are fake. If your not careful and you don't know what to look for you could easily get hacked or scammed here. BE CAREFUL.
