Scammers state that they are from The criminal nvestigation division. They stated that I've conducted criminal fraud in the State of Texas after an audit of my Tax returns. When I asked if he was with the IRS. I said really? He said yes and if I don't comply that the local police will be dispatched to my home (I lived in Illinois all my life) and be arrested! I said that the IRS sends a Registered Letter regarding any audit or investigation. The don't some stupid Packistani or Indian scammer with terrible English skills to call first! Poor elderly people who get scared and scammed!
Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.
Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.
Insisted that he was going to send a lawyer to my home with documents to sign, and if I don't take care of this matter that I cheated on my Income Tax, that I would go to Jail under a Fed. offense. Really, I never cheat anyone, anything, I just have a problem believing this is for real.????
