As the previous Los Angeles County Resident, I got a few automated calls from " Lisa Olbrook" of the Criminal Division of the Treasury Headquarters in Washington D.C.. A few days ago, I also received a call from 202-407-2024 about Tax. She said that it was the case with IRS. It was also an automated voice call.
I know from IRS site that the Government Offices will never call for the illegal cases, rather , they will send notices by mail.
Scam - claims to be from the crime investigation dept of the treasure inspector general for tax administration, and that my name and address are under investigation and I need to call back urgently. If you receive a call from this number, they will be persistent and try calling you more than once. The caller will claim to be a Mike Johnson with a heavy accent. I did not call back, but it did place fear in my wife that there might actually be an investigation. We asked why we have not been informed by mail, but they will just claim that all correspondence has been ignored and that you need to call right away. I found this site just by "googling" the telephone number given.
Multiple harassing automated calls from "Liza Olbrook" who says she's with the criminal division of the Treasury Headquarters in Washington, DC and that I need to call regarding a federal case that's been filed against me at my current address. I traced the phone number to Ymax provider and have reported it.
My brother received a call and left a message for me to call back Denny Smith from the IRS. I called this number back and wouldn't connect me to Denny Smith but they asked me to give the number they called at initially so they can help me. I gave them my landline and was accused of accepting or transferring illegal money outside of U.S. When I told him I had no idea, he persistently told me there was an illegal activity found from the year 2008-2009. I kept asking questions because I could not understand his accent and asked to be connected to an English speaking rep. Luckily, he was fed up with me asking him to clearly speak and he told me there will be documentation mailed to me tomorrow and fill it out. He said it was important because he can arrest me. He also asked if I had a lawyer. I am afraid they still have important information about me.
