Scam. Called my landline. Automated message. Said "This message is for you" not noting anyone specific. Claimed to be an attorney of the IRS and to call to arrange payment to avoid action. This is a scam.
This number is a pre-recorded number claiming to be from the IRS and one has to call them immediately before they proceed with further action. It's a SCAM!
4 calls yesterday from this number. I finally answered, the caller represented himself as Paul Smith from the IRS. He told me the government would take action as I had made more money than I reported, I requested a hard copy of the conversation so I could take it to my accountant...and he hung up on me! Today, another call from District of Columbia, 202 864 1030, which I did not answer. What a nuisance!
The caller spoke poor English and had a heavy foreign accent.
I received a very crypitc call . . . starting with the letters IRS, giving a phone number, telling me I needed to call to avoid legal action, and repeating the phone number.
I KNOW I have no issues with the IRS, so I knew it was a scam - but I called the phone number anyway and got a recorded message that asked if I wanted to make phone calls for free anywhere in the US with 'Magic Jack' and then reported that this number was assigned to Magic Jack but had not yet been assigned to any individual.
