I got this email today, no calls, just this email and a copy of an "arrest warrant" that looks really fake.
Yeah i got this too. Look at the email. You can tell it's a scam by the mistakes in the language and the fact that most of the words are misspelled. Just delete it and get on with your life. :)

I wish I would've researched before handing over $500 I'm devastated by this!! I hate Scammers I hate that I was taken for a fool and I am a public servant and all I do is try to help those in need. Then theres people like this that pray on others insecurities and fears.
You paid these people? Despite the poorly written grammatically erroneous writing and the silly accusations? Hard to believe anyone would fall for such nonsense.
You mean to say if anyone out of the clear blue sky wrote you an e-mail, said they were some kind of prosecutor and demanded money to make the prosecution go away, you'd just pay them? You'd pay extortion money?
1. Public prosecutors in the US do not do things that way.
2. If you were the subject of a criminal prosecution you'd receive something in writing from a person authorized and licensed in your state to serve process.
3. E-mails are not legal notification of anything.
4. Everyone accused of a crime has a right to an attorney and proper warnings.
5. Most public prosecutors generally consult with defense attorneys in pending cases. Usually for a plea agreement.
The phrases in the e-mail are essentially meaningless and meant to scare you. And I guess they did.
Be on the lookout for more scams because if you have in fact paid them anything, they've got you down as an easy mark. For some other scam.
