We recieved two calls from this number. The Receptionist picked it up the first time, told the man on the phone that we did not have anyone here by the name he request to speak with. He shouted that she was Mother F$(#(&$ A-Hole. She promptly hung up on him at which point he called back and I answered the phone. After firmly stating we did not have anyone at the company by that name he proceeded to call me the same name. I told him to stop using that lanuage and I would help him find who was looking for. He continued to scream the insult over and over, I heard it until the receiver was down!
Please do not answer this number for your own sanity!
Some man with a heavy Indian accent and claims to be with the Legal Dept at CPS keeps calling the work number and asking for a certain person who works here. The person did return his call and asked what company he works for and the man hung up. Now he keeps calling back asking for the same person and I will not transfer him because I know it is a scam call so he keeps making threats! When he calls it shows up as "Unknown", but he gave me his number one time and it is 202-241-4168. It is a scam!
Please have this rude person quit calling my place of employment. His name is Dennis Scott. I will not tolerate the harrassment from this person and neither will my employer.
800Notes is not a clearinghouse to stop unwanted calls. You will have to do this yourself.
This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.
ABC News released an investigative report on this scam a year ago:
