I got the call from a guy from the number 253-232-7516, and he explained that he worked with the US government grant department and i was selected out of so many people for a 1 time grant. Then he gave me the number to Janet Morris 206-866-5725. She told me about the $190 deposit through western union, and gave up the receiving name of Manju Debi. So I sent it off and then she gave me the receiving info for a guy name Alan Cooper, and to call her supervisor name Harry Anderson at 206-866-5745, who was to help me receive the grant, which didn't go through so I called him back and he came up with some state taxes on the grant because I stayed in a taxable state and the taxes came up to be $425, so I told him I didn't have it, and he asked me when would I have it. I told him next week, that's when I looked them up to see if it was a scam.
They just called my brother for the exact same thing. They're keeping up with this story I hope everyone of u contacted the authorities they have to be stoped !
I just got the same call from CHRISTOPHER DAVID from the "US Department of Government Grants" telling me that I was selected to recieve a $7000 grant. As the previous blogger mentioned, the back ground noise sounded as if he was calling from a call center... so I listened. He went on to say that I was selected for the government grant because I currently pay all of my loans on time and have no criminal record. I was told that this was an interst free grant with no repayment. CHRISTPHER DAVID gave me a confirmation code of WG555 and told me to call Ms. DEBBIE BENNET at 202-241-5377. He repeated that he was from the US DEPARTMENT OF GOVERNMENT GRANTS and the "company's" address was 200 INDEPENDENCE AVE WASHINGTON DC.
So... I called the 202 number and got some rediculous voicemail... so I hung up. 5 minutes later I got a call back from some Indian lady (202-241-5377 showed up on my cell caller id) asking if someone had just called her. I recognized the number so I told her, "Yes, I called as CHRISTOPHER DAVID instructed me to". She then introduced herself as Ms. DEBBIE BENNET and asked for my conformation code. I gave her the confirmation code I was provided... she went on to provide me with my personal info; first and last name and address. She then asked how I would like to receive my $7000 grant... in cash, direct deposit to my bank account, or put on a VISA or Mastercard. I told her on a VISA. "Ms. Debbie Bennet" (more like Manju Patel) then told me I would need to pay a one time processing fee of $20 (they must have reduced their $190 fee). While I was on the phone with Ms. Patel, I mean Ms. Bennet, I Googled the 202-241-5377 and came upon post after post on how this entire "US Government Grant" is a SCAM and a bunch of BULLSH!T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really hope that these people are dealt with and stop scamming others!!!! I really hope that people are smart enough to look this up before giving even $20 to these SCAMMERS!!! I mean really $20 x millions of people that they call everyday.... they are rich while we are sitting here busting our as$es working and living check to check!!!
I just received a call that I have been selected by the Government to receive grant money and I can receive it in cash. All I need to do is call this number back and talk to Albert Scott and he would verify that I'm the who I am. I have not called them back as I know this is a scam. I will be calling the police dept. and turning it in.
I have been recieving calls from this number stating that I have been selected to recieve $7000.00 in United States Federal Grant money.Theyasked me how I would like the funds sent to me and which bank i banked with he gave me a ID code LD107 and the call back number to call. Albert Scott said I had to do was to western union $205.00 to them as a security deposit because the money was already at western union. I asked him if i was gonna be getting the money through the bank why did i have to send them money through western union? After that he just didn't answer my question and continued to say that the money is waiting for me and that i shoud hurry and send the $205 to western union so he could get the money to me as soon as possible. after i hung up i called my girlfriend who told me it was a scam. He even called back after i didn't call them back at 8:20pm to tell me that he was waiting to send me the money if i didn't want it.
