I received a voicemail from Peter Sampson or Simpson...he was stumbling with his name and number....kinda sounded like the Swedish Chef and daffy duck from the muppets. I immediately looked up his info on the web...this scam has been going on for awhile now. I recognized it right off the bat, however the elderly and the scared of the govt. type people may not fare so well. Pass along this info to all friends and family. I wish I had more time and money, because I would hunt each and every one of these scumbags down and slit them from ear to ear, given the chance! I will pledge to all, that if I ever am diagnosed with terminal cancer, I will make it my duty to find all of the "Peter Sampsons" of the world and snuff them out Promptly!
Says he is IRS criminal investigator and he is sending a police officer, and IRS agent and someone else to my house to arrest us for tax fraud on specific lines on our most recent tax return. I was offered the option to either resolve it in court or out of court. I told him I was recording the conversation and this didn't bother him he says "that's OK because this call is being monitored by Dept of Homeland Security". They try to trick you by reciting the official IRS address. These calls are comical if you know they are scams but I can definitely see how they trick people.
this guy called and said he has a warrant for my arrest............I told him to come arrest me..........he said he was sending someone.....I asked what his name was..........He did not say................but he had a indian (hindu) accent..........I told him he can't arrest me because he wasn't american.............he got very pissed off and said "I am terminating this [***] call".................so maybe he was american ????
I just received a call from the "IRS". They said a warrant was out for my arrest and I needed to pay back fees. Really? (The number calling was 202-241-5488 and ID said District of Columbia. I kept him on the line as long as I could so he can not call someone else during that time.)....Was he a federal employee? Yes...Really? Isn't the IRS independent of the Federal Government and a contracted company???? Well, yes...And were are you located? In the country of America. Isn't America a continent and not a country....I guess. And what is your address? 1001 Constitution Ave. Isn't that the address of the Smithsonian?...I don't know. How did you get my number? From my boss...And how did he get it? From the phone book. Are you a scammer? Well, yes. Don't you think that is wrong? Yes. Where are you really calling from? Pakistan?
