They pretend to be IRS agents.  One person named "Veronica Allen" with a strong Indian accent and bad knowledge of official IRS terms.  When you call 202-241-7102 back, the voice mail says it's Theresa form the IRS - with the same exact voice and accent.  They threaten with arrest and 72 hour detention if you don't pay them.

Just got a call from the fake IRS.
Reported them here: http://www.irs.gov/uac/Report-Phishing
and got this reply from the real IRS:

This is not a legitimate call from the IRS.

Since this individual is impersonating the IRS you should also report it to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA). You can send an email to [email protected] or file an online complaint by completing their "Online Form" located on their website, http://www.treasury.gov/tigta/contact_report_scam.shtml

Please visit our "Report Phishing" website (http://www.irs.gov/uac/Report-Phishing) and click on "Complaint Assistant". This will allow you to file a complaint with the FTC and identify the complaint as an IRS complaint.

Alternatively you can file a complaint directly with the FTC by visiting http://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov.

Whether you use the IRS link or file the complaint directly with the FTC, add "IRS Hostile Call" in the Comments section of the complaint.

Individuals who have been victimized by this scam and have provided one or more Green Dot MoneyPak numbers to the scammer should also notify Green Dot directly at 800-473-3636 to report the scam and open an investigation.

Don't be fooled, look at this press release:
http://www.treasury.gov/tigta/press/press_tigta-2014-03.htm
My poor elderly parents, on Social Security,  got so scared they gave the cruel unscrupulous Indian witch their credit card number and now have to cancel their credit card, because the fake IRS won't stop charging them!
Report them, so they stop disrupting your day.

This Indian sounding lady called and left me a voice mail with a fake name and IRS badge and case number against me. She was hostile and rude.
Great official website to report these calls:

I called the real IRS after this fictitious number called me.  They assured me this was a SCAM.  THE IRS DOESN'T CALL YOU. Never give your card number and REPORT THEM TO THE FTC:
