the same stating ?/federal invest...aboutr my wife..and last for digits another phone 7190... just another criminal people, who frighten decent people !

Since this individual is impersonating the IRS you should also report it to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA). You can send an email to [email protected] or file an online complaint by completing their "Online Form" located on their website, http://www.treasury.gov/tigta/contact_report_scam.shtml

Please visit our "Report Phishing" website (http://www.irs.gov/uac/Report-Phishing) and click on "Complaint Assistant". This will allow you to file a complaint with the FTC and identify the complaint as an IRS complaint.

Alternatively you can file a complaint directly with the FTC by visiting http://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov.

Whether you use the IRS link or file the complaint directly with the FTC, add "IRS Hostile Call" in the Comments section of the complaint.

Individuals who have been victimized by this scam and have provided one or more Green Dot MoneyPak numbers to the scammer should also notify Green Dot directly at 800-473-3636 to report the scam and open an investigation.

Just gat a call. We have had the same call 3 different times. The first was regarding a previous tax under payment and owed $6300 in taxes and fees. We use an account firm and new it was a scam. The next time a Mark - Criminal Investigation Unit and I told him to call me back. I told him I was recording the conversation, which I was and I asked him to state his name, number, badge number with Department, address as well as his Supervisor's name and case number. Phone went dead, no response... Nothing. Contacted the IRS and they gave me the same links as stated in this thread. Time to buy the call blocking device

Female yoice left a message saying that I am under criminal investigation and repeated the phone number twice to call back. I am wondering if this could be stopped? I've registered my phone under DONOTCALL.GOV

from an officer Eric Johnson saying there is an arrest record for me and that I need to call 202 241 7147
Both I and my adult children figured this was a scam, so we input the number on the internet and it says it is
that type of call.
I got a call like this one to two months ago and called back to the given number.  They told me if I did not call back in 30 min. a local police officer would come to arrest me and put me in prison for many months.
This time, I will not return the call as it just shows interest in something that is fake.
How do we permanently stop these kind of calls?
