I got several rings from this number but never picked them up. They left messages saying they are with IRS and ask me not to ignore this call otherwise a legal action will be taken.
Called me & asked for the last 4 of SS# & told me this was regarding backed taxed & when I didn't cooperate they told me the authorities would come to my house.
I got a phone call from a 202 area code phone number and talked to some guy with a foreign accent who claimed to be an IRS agent and said that there were discrepancies in my tax returns from 2010 and 2011 and that I owe the IRS a total of $4,889.36 I happen to know this is not true as H&R Block prepares my income taxes and they have not made any errors for those years as the agent has stated. I am very sure this is a scam to get me to pay them this money which I will not pay. I was also told that if I didn't come up with the money that they would have police officers show up at my home of residence to arrest me and put me in jail until this whole thing is straightened out. I plan on contacting my local police dept here in Mississippi and find out if any arrest warrants are out on me from Washington DC which I am sure there is not.
They are Indian IRS scammers. They cold call people and accuse them of being criminals and tell them the police are coming by and will arrest them shortly, but if you pay them money by Green dot money pak, they can make it all go away. Total scam.
Very difficult to understand because of a THICK, accent. Something about the IRS and call back or have your attorney do so. Don't disregard message or blah, blah, blah.....The IRS is calling me on a Saturday??? The government? Hahaha!!! This idiot kept calling repeatedly, and after the first time, not understanding a word he said, I just kept sending the call to voicemail. What an idiot! Oh PLEASE! Take my money! I'm dumb enough to believe you work for the government!
