Total scam. They are scammer /extortionists located in India. They are trying to scare you into paying them something by untraceable green dot money pak. Do not pay them anything! Block their calls and do not pick up on calls you do not recognize. Do not call them back.
Almost all IRS disputes are settled administratively. Police are never involved in IRS disputes. IRS has absolutely no control or influence on local law enforcement. Nobody is going to do anything to you about taxes. Period. Do not fall for this scam!
Received another call. F***ed up accent. I heard in the background Allah prayer call. Must be a Muslim gang in some third world country like Pakistan, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Yemen, Egypt where Allah prayer calls are routine. These scam artists and extortion are another abuse of humanity from Islam and Muslim culture.
I just received a call / automated voicemail from 202-241-7549. The message said to call the IRS back and speak with Officer Julie Smith. Also to do it soon so they didn't take action against me. Knowing how shady this seemed I looked the number up online and found a ton of "this is a Scam" warnings. Don't call back and certainly don't give any money to these scam artists.
Received this fraudulent call today. Did not pick up. In Message they told me to contact Julie Smith before they took action against me. Claimed to be connected with IRS. Automated.
