I have also received a call from this number ( I didn't pick up the call, so here these via my voice mail). First, it is a guy with an accent, telling me that he is from IRS and some other department ( cant really understand what he is saying because of the accent) and call him (202 241 8224) back for more information about the case. And the day after, a lady claiming that her name is something smith then tell me that don't forget this message and call the hot line which is the same number before they take any action against you. Her voice sounds like an AI instead of a real voice from a person.
Same as above. A man with Filipino or Chinese accent left a message about IRS tax fraud, urgent matter. He called from two numbers, both with 202 area code.
We called the 202 241 8224 number back on a speaker phone. My husband and I heard a different accent, that started like Middle Eastern or Indian. Difficult to understand. The accent changed to East European or Russian after two minutes, as if the other side was using a voice filter software. We also heard background noise, and two words we recognized were Ahmed and Moulana (Maulana ??). May be a Muslim gang somewhere.
Anyway, the guy wanted money or something, right now with 'green dot' card - I don't what that is. He said I must pay for alleged IRS fraud by me, or face arrest within an hour. He had my old information right and also my phone number - I don't know how. I told him to stop this scam, to work in a real job, or ask his stupid Allah for money. He started yelling. My husband ended the scam call.
The calls come from India and Pakistan, though most are from India. Consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.
Report the Calls to the real IRS here:

Received call from this number. A woman's voice like on a automated type call left a message saying not to forget this message and call the hot line which is the same number before they take any action against me. When tried the number given phone rang many times then just hung up.
