Has anyone received a phone call from this company? Colson & Associates at 202-269-5337. They say I owe on a payday loan and and they are going to have a warrant issued today for my arrest. Can this happen? I am also quiet sure this was paid, infact it was from 2009. I have never been contacted from this company (who says they are an investigating/prosecuting firm) ever before. What should I do?

They're trying to scam you. It's against FDCPA regulations to threaten a debtor with arrest. If they call back, demand that they MAIL you a debt validation letter proving you owe this debt to them. (This DVL will have original creditor, amount owed, date of loan/debt, date of last payment, etc.) You won't receive any info - they'll say something like they can't do that till you pay.
By law, debt collectors have to give you this information so you can verify that what they're saying is correct. However, these people are nothing more than scammers who do their best to frighten people into paying for bogus debts, debts that are already paid off or debts outwith the statute of limitations for collection.
Report them to the FTC and your state's Attorney General. Let the scammers know that you are recording every call they make to you (even if you're not). You may also want to put fraud alerts on your bank accounts and with the three credit agencies (Experian, Equifax and TransUnion). Remember - if they will not send proof via mail that you owe this debt to them, you owe them NOTHING.
Yes, I've been getting calls from this number for the last two months. For a payday loan from 2010. They are threatening me with a warrant and jail time. Accusing me of being a criminal, saying I'm a felon and so on. They say they are investigators, not debt collectors. I could really go into this but basically I didn't give them money and called the state attorney general office. You can't be arrested for a debt. If I'm wrong I will come back and post.
Called and left above phone number and advised that I was to call her (Sue Norman) for representation on case no. PL 53090... Funny though, I haven't had a check bounce in my lifetime. Never borrowed money from one of those Payday loan places either. I'm thinking they are scamming folks. Claims she is with the "Fraud and Worthless Check Division" but didn't say of what institution.
Recieved a call today form Sue Norman 202-269-5337 saying theres a case against me regarding a bad check, I went through this a couple months back with a different person saying there was a warrant out for my arrest not thinking we panicked to come up with the money and pawned my wifes wedding ring to pay it, we wound up not paying it, and contacted the local police department because they were threatening me. DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY
