What a bunch of bs this call was. Same as what people said above. What bothered me was he was extremely aggressive. Did follow up with a call to the fraud department. I wish these calls would end.
The number may belong to them but these calls are definately not from them. I had 1 of these calls less than an hour ago (saturday afternoon) the caller refused to identify himself using a thick packistani accent with very broken english claiming to represent "Canadian dempartment of BNS!" telling me that my computers were being hacked and wanted me to remove any security software so he "could fix the problem". So yeah its a scam for certain a very illegal scam. Oh and btw, Canada has no "Department of BNS" and the american homeland security apparatus would definately not be using people in the middle east with no english or french language skills to warn canadians of computer hacks.
Just got a call from this number. Claimed I had serious security viruses on my computer and that he need to remove it. I laughed at him and he then told me some DNS number to prove that he was serious. I then asked him to tell me me IPS address, but he said that he didn't have that because he works at the provider level and not the customer level. I laughed again and told him that I new about this scam. He again tried to convince me that he was legit, but I hung up on him.
I confronted him about the scam saying that this is a scam and I am not falling for it and the guy was persistant saying "how can you say that" we are trying to help you. they were very persistant, then my husband interfered and the guy was still persistant to him, he asked for the extention number and they guy was mumbling LOL
