I received a call from them also. A man from India identified himself as Officer Adam Baker. He said is with IRS and there is a suit against my ex and myself. I explained I have nothing to do with what my ex filed. Got his information and he said that they planned to send a server to him to hand him forms from IRS. He told me that it was up to me if I wanted to pay or go to jail. I said I would do neither and he said he would call me back.
Thank you for your link. I immediately submitted my complaint since I got a call today (10/9/2014), but wasn't able to answer the phone. I have the recording saved, but he said he was Officer Adam Baker with the IRS. He said it was time sensitive and that I call them back immediately to avoid legal action from them. Also mentioned they were going to seek legal action against me. I am so sick of these hackers, spammers and other idiots that I report everyone of them. If we don't report them, they'll continue to "steal" from innocent people who fall for their scam. I did call that number back and spoke to another person. I obtained his full name and asked him to spell his last name (James Becosta). He said he was with the IRS, but when I called all I got was some music, so I held on until this James Becosta started talking. I knew it was a scam immediately since we all know if you're calling the IRS, you don't first hear music. They are pretty stupid themselves since many of us know the IRS doesn't operate that way. No one will intimidate or use scare tactics, and this guy said to me the IRS has a tax evasion suit against me. I became very heated at that point because he even mentioned my son's name. He said we had filed our taxes together and so I yelled at him saying he wasn't with the IRS, so he hung up on me. I then called back again which went into a voice recording. I told them I would be filing with the FCC and the Attorney General's Office. I also said they better not call me again and to get a "real job". I don't tolerate people like this. Anyone who reads my message, please file a complaint (www.tigta.gov) as well as the FCC and the Attorney General's Office. This needs to stop and we have to report them. Thank you.
