Got a call from a Office of David Marvin. Threatened me to pay up money or the IRS will file criminal charges. Told him to shut up and reported the fraud operation to the police.
Got a call from a Office of David Marvin. Threatened me to pay up money or the IRS will file criminal charges. Told him to shut up and reported the fraud operation to the police.
Received a call this morning from "officer" Derek Martin claiming he is calling from IRS and threatened to put a lien against my property, etc. When I asked why I never rec;d any correspondence directly from the IRS, he just said he will pursue the case and hung up on me.
Got a call from James Morgan, told me that there is a case against me. Said he was from the IRS. It was hard to understand what he was saying because of his accent.
This guy called leaving a voicemail saying something about will pursue a case against me, if the call not returned. He was called and he made no official introduction, but he said my friend's name, had only partial information. He also aid his name by some other first name, but still used Morgan as the last name. During the call the line disconnected, even on the second call back to him. Anyhow, I told my friend if it was really official they would start out with it's firm's name, or governmental entity's name, who they are and other identifying information.
It may be a robot called phone, since the line disconnected again, with some strange offline signal, not common in the USA that I'm aware of. This guy mentioned something about an arrest history of my friend, and the owning of back taxes to the IRS.
Obviously this is a scam. Please be sure anyone reading this to inform anyone you know who is an immigrant legally or illegally, or non-immigrant to be aware of these scams, and how an official business is conducted in your country. I hope if you're part of some club/organization, church, synagogue, temple, mosque, or handling cases of immigration to inform these of these kinds of scams going on.
