I am a criminal defense attorney. A friend of mine called and said that she received a call from this number. The caller claimed to be part of a private investigation company and they called her to get a message to her grandson that a warrant was going to be issued at 5 p.m. today. They never got to the part about asking for money for the bond, though I am sure that was about to follow, because the grandma's daughter was in the room and took over the phone call to find out what was going on. I called the number back and identified myself as the grandson's attorney and they refused to provide any info unless I would fax them a "retainership document." When I questioned them about it they said it was governed by the UCC which is the Uniform Commercial Code and has nothing to do with criminal law. I could also here in the background that this was originating from some type of call center because I could here a lot of other "callers" voices in the background. Obviously this is some type of grandparents scam.
