when you see the number, answer the phone "district attorney's office" and listen for how fast they hang up....but i do like the idea of the air horn...i think i will get one.
Got a call from this # saying I was going to be prosecuted for some over-the-phone pharmacy purchase and if I comply would clear me of any charges by paying a fine $$, even acted like they were contacting the "judge" - threatened me with being arrested at my home and/or work!! This # is being traced to a Navy shipyard in D.C.
When anyone receives unidentifed phone calls, have ready a blow horn and blast them. Make sure that you answer the call and wait for the person to acknowledge and then BLAST them. They'll be hard of hearing for a while and it will deter them from calling again. I got this idea from the police when I was receiving crank calls back in the 80's. Worked for me.
